Personal Care is our Personal Promise

Our goal at The Ponderosa Assisted Living Community is to allow our residents to live as independently as possible. Prior to admission, a thorough assessment is done by our registered nurse to determine the daily living and health care needs of each individual. We work with the resident, their family, doctors, pharmacists, and other providers to maintain a consistent plan to address these needs. As care needs change, additional assessments are done to make the necessary adjustments to the resident's service plan. We offer 9.5 hours per day of in house licensed nursing availability with a 24 hour on-call nurse to problem solve and direct after hours care. Diabetic monitoring and insulin administration are offered between 7:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Independence with self-medication is encouraged. Caregivers work closely with the nurses to ensure that each resident has optimal services provided. If emergency care is required, we have specific guidelines established that will address the situations in a timely manner. Ambulance and emergency services are arrangeed as needed with an emphasis on the resident or family decisions. Each employee is trained to respond professionally and calmly in life-threatening situations. Emergency response teams are within minutes of our facility and emergency calls are placed in all of our apartments. Close association is maintained with the local hospitals to provide a comfortable transition if hospitalization is required.

The Director of Resident Services schedules conferences in the facility or communicates via phone with the resident and/or family to discuss any changes in the plan of care. By working closely together and utilizing any helpful family suggestions we can enhance the quality of our resident's care.
