Our Activities Director and Staff welcome residents to a full calendar of activities each month:
The Big Dance
We hold a dance in the activities room once a month. Residents enjoy dancing or just listening to the music and snacking on some goodies and watching other residents dance.
Once a month we have a breakfast for just the men.
Nothing like getting a group of guys all together in one place!
We also have a special meals just for the ladies!
Once a month our ladies can attend the Ladies Luncheon with special treats!
Fun for the holidays and enjoyment of the beautiful outdoors is the focus of seasonal outings:
Scenic Yakima River Canyon Drive
Elk Feeding Station
Christmas Light Tour
Interested residents visit favorite Yakima venues for meals together, usually once a month.
Old Town Station
Whistlin’ Jack Lodge
Gold Creek Station
Papa Baird’s Pizza
Shopping for Daily Needs
Residents are taken on regularly scheduled shopping trips to these local stores:
Our nurse holds a toenail clinic once a month for residents.
They get to enjoy getting their feet soaked and toes trimmed while listening to some music!
We usually have exercise classes Tuesday and Thursday mornings. We will either follow along with an exercise video or have a resident-led exercise group.
On-site and Nearby Church Services
Each Sunday a non-denominational service is held at 9:00 AM in the Fireside Room. Ponderosa Retirement is also located right across the street from Stone Church and some residents choose to attend services and activities there.
Resident Bible Study
Bible study is held every Thursday at 10:00 AM in the Activity Room.
The study is led by a resident and usually lasts around one hour.
Our calendar is full of musical entertainment!
We have Steve & Gloria, Jim & Doyle, and Jerry Hobbs come in regularly for our residents’ enjoyment.
Other groups and individuals also visit and share their music for special holiday concerts.
We hold this activity at least twice a month.
Come get your nails done and enjoy a little visiting time!
This activity is not just for the ladies! Gentlemen are always welcome!
Our friendly Activities staff organized regularly scheduled crafts days throughout the month!
Often the crafts are themed to the season and residents share their artistic talents with other residents for a festive mood.
Once a month we have our very talented paint instructor Lori come in and teach the residents step by step how to paint a different picture. They paint them on canvas so they can take them and hang them in their room or give them as a gift.
